okay. so muppet has these shoes:
which are called "dreams come true." i believe i told yall about them when i first found them on zappos.
so, enthralled, i looked up the maker and found the main preschoolians site and just started to do the happy dance.
first of all, we love them... they fit beautifully on her pudgy little feet and they just look fabulous on. the colors are somewhat neutral and coordinate with alot of her clothing. second, the craftmanship is great and they are very, very soft, high quality leather. any case, i have received a bazillion compliments on them, as few shoes out there feature a "brown princess" and she has two pairs; one for now and one to grow into. you mamas out there know what i mean!
but here is the bit that i love more than anything. i was just on the preschoolians site, exploring their different pages (they will be coming out with a "design your own" option very soon!) and this "instant message" type screen window thingey opened up. there was a person named "jeff" on it, saying hello to me. (i was super confused at first, but got over it quickly when i realized that i had an opportunity to "run my mouth" a bit!) jeff is the ceo. and he was there to chat. so i chatted. and yall... he was just so sweet! so personable... so approachable!
here is a taste of the conversation (geez, i should have asked him for his permission to add this to my blog, i am so NOT up on computer etiquitte! and, um, yall know that i am "guest", right? okay. here it is. dont laugh at my initial stupidity)
Jeff: hi
Guest: how did this window open up? am i really speaking with someone?
Guest:
Guest: ??
Jeff: hello i am Jeff
Jeff: nice to meet you
Jeff: :)
Guest: wow. nice to meet you as well! how interesting that this little 'chat box' popped up, because i was just contemplating sending you all an email regarding the 'design your own' option... any thoughts as to when that part will open up?
Jeff: yes very soon we are working hard
Jeff: I have esp I knew you would email me
Jeff: which shoes do you want to design and may I know yourname :)
Guest: ha!
Guest: i am excited to custom order some sandals for her...
Guest: and i would also like to give you a compliment...
Jeff: beach or peek a boo
Jeff: compliments are nice as well
Guest: my computer is going wonky... you keep disappearing, yet keep coming back! give me a second while i type my little anecdote...
Jeff: i hope you stay a while
Guest: my daughter is a new walker (15 months) and i heard about the "robeez" craze. i wanted to order her a pair of shoes, and came across the "princess" shoe. i loved it, yet, my "little princess" is african american with dark tresses. i wrote the company, asking about multicultural faces and i was told that my comment would be concidered... and a few months later, i saw a new shoe with a mermaid... and no brown option. now, i realize that no one is required to create their products for "the masses", but... it was a bit frustrating for me. i had also looked at other sites for the leather soft sole shoes that represented little brown faces. to no avail. then, i happened upon zappos...
Jeff: more please
Jeff: :)
Guest: ... and saw your "princess" shoes. and i fell in love with you immediately! she currently has 2 pairs (a c.m.f. and a i.w.b. pair in the same design, because i know that i will never find something so wonderful again!) i cannot express to you how delighted i was and how impressed i was with not only your peek-a-boo bottom for true fit, but your craftmanship...
Jeff: thanks so much
Jeff: what a nice note
Jeff: :)
Jeff: my pleausre to meet you again
Guest: and quality! everyone who sees her in these shoes falls in love with not only the look of the shoe, but with the little "brown princess"
Jeff: :)
Guest: if your site allows photos (for a gallery?) i would love to submit one!
Jeff: :) we would lovde to add you and your daughter
Guest: oh yes, and i believe the sandal i am in love with is the beach sandal... it has the elastic ankle portion and the cut outs...
Jeff: :)
Guest: i will make sure to register for your listing and i am planning on following this "conversation" up with an email. alas, i must go back to work, but it has been a pleasure!!! my name, by the way, is kenya and i will be in touch!
Jeff: stay a while Kenya
Jeff: nice to meet you
Jeff: workis boring
Jeff: thanks for the visit
Guest: :) have a great night!
